Went for a stroll yesterday, just to see how it would be walking, it was tuff going, I found it really hard to pick up any sort of pace and my heart ached when I got back. Felt shattered too. Is this normal?

Ablation a week ago yesterday
Yes. What happened to the "TV remote only week one and week two you can make the tea???" Just because you do not have a giant zip up your front does not mean that your heart has not had a big kicking. Listen to your body.
Be careful, week 2 I felt worse. And yes it's normal. I see a lot of people say they felt fine after a couple of days or a week? I think we are all different and it definitely depends on what you have had done inside the heart. Some people may have had just a few burns or like me some may have had more than others. Best advice on here is listening to your body? I think a week is to early in my opinion give your heart a bit of time to heal .
Best wishes
Sam .
I am listening, remote in my hand. It's true, because you have not got a giant scar you thing you are all right. Defo not though and feeling worse.
Hardly surprising after only a week, go very slowly and very cautiously. I ruined my first ablation with too much exercise too soon.
6 weeks after my ablation, I'm still taking it slow, my second week I was walking the dog but still fully aware not to push myself and I'm still the same, I just don't trust Af so I air on the side of caution.
I went back to work on week 4 did 4 shifts and then went on holiday for a week , my walking distance has increased and I have been out for a bike ride but I'm nowhere near what I was capable of ,i continue to improve at my pace and you will find your pace just don't push it .
Oh please be careful. I had 5 ablations. It took me a minimum of 6 weeks to pick up my pace. Short walks are good to start. I started with a distance of 25 feet maybe ( I live in the US) I did that for a week or so then moved up a few more feet. I did well as long as I did things in small steps to start.
I'm am a RARE case. After my 5th ablation I had an AV node ablation then a sympatectomy. Please all of you listen to your body. I wish each of you the very best and that you will continue to rise above this devistating condition. I send hugs and love to all of you for strength when you need it.
First three days, everything was rosy, after that the tiredness / breathlessness kicked in. Two and a half weeks later, I'm beginning to get some energy back, but can still fall asleep at the drop of a hat. Just don't push it, listen to your body and stop when it tells you to. The ablation is a long term investment - don't expect too much too soon, you have the rest of your life to build your fitness back up!!
Good advice, thank you
Too many opt for ablation without seeking out alternative treatments that don't permanently alter cardiac electrical activity. Then they are committed to the consequences. Try medications first. And psychologically don't become obsessed. Excellent results have been obtained without ablation. Choose ablation as a last resort and expect to repeat the treatment multiple times. It's that repetition that does the real harm, but once taken that road cannot be modified.
I was off work for four weeks. I had a heck of a time too. It's been over three months and I still don't feel my best. I've been told everyone heals differently, have patience. Take it slow.
