Had ablation yesterday , one entry point in the neck and one in the groin. The groin area is swollen this evening and hard but no bruising, is this to be expected , and apart from a slight discomfort in my neck and chest I don't feel to bad.

Ablation yesterday
Hi Azbycx, the entry points in my groin were also a little swollen and hard, but there was no discomfort. I'm not medically trained, but I believe they would become inflamed and sore if there was any infection. If the entry points look and feel no different than they were when you were discharged, then I'm sure everything is OK. Expect you are pleased it's over and that you feel OK....don't fall in the trap of thinking you can do "stuff" for a couple of weeks!!!
The worst part of it was when I woke up and I had a pain in the side of my neck and to hear a nurse and the anneistatist talking about my jugular vain and the pressure thats applied to close it is severe. I wasn't expecting that. I plan on chilling out for a couple of weeks
Good idea, and try not to worry if you get a few "blips" over the next 3 months or so, they may not have told you, but it's fairly common.....
It's started to go purple.
It will probably go all colours of the rainbow (slight exaggeration!) but don't worry. I was bruised from the groin to just above my knee on the inner thigh. If it becomes uncomfortable, speak to the nurse team where you had it done or go to A&E but I really doubt that will be necessary.
Thanks flapjack for your replys , just back from doctor ; swelling is bigger than they would like it to be and as you say the bruising will spread, if my calf start to swell or my leg gets cold I have to go to a/e .Thanks again much appreciated.
No problem, always best to have these things checked out if not happy.....hope it settles in a day or so....John
Glad all went ok, my 3rd due in a couple of weeks. I had a ha d lump in my groin for some weeks after my last ablation but it eventually disappeared.
