Morning all. Had a x4 PVI and flutter ablation yesterday. Cardiologist said it went well although apparently I tied to bite the anaesthetist when waking up! Also went into retention and couldn’t pee so needed x2 catheters which delayed my discharge until 23:00 .They do most ablations as day cases at King’s now as no beds to admit people to. Am feeling a bit weak and wobbly today and also a little tearful which is par for the course for me after a GA. Now to start the process of healing and hopefully upward and upwards. I have found other people’s experiences on this forum invaluable in helping to prepare for it and I must say a top tip was the sports water bottle which was so helpful when lying flat for nearly five hours!

Ablation yesterday.
Wishing you a speedy recovery and successful outcome.
Thanks for reporting how it all went and I really hope that you'll have an AF free life from now on.
The build up to an ablation is quite intense, so now that it's over I can understand how you are feeling a little tearful. Do you have someone supportive and helpful with you?

Wishing you a safe, stable and speedy recovery. You might be interested to know that i have had two ablations and both times recovery has been smooth sailing (bit of sore throat on the first one as tube knicked my throat) but easy peasy on the second - sure you will be the same.Interestingly in Canada the post procedure protocol is to get you up and walking within an hour or so and discharged home not long after that.
I hope you’re feeling better soon. Glad all went well, best wishes Ron.👍
Good luck with the recovery Dawfor, got mine at the Royal Brompton in two weeks.
Wishing you the best! Being so weak afterward, and the anesthesia, is bound to make you weepy. But it's over now, and time for recovery and looking forward to life again.
