Yes, migraine aura is quite common after an ablation. I didn't have it with my first two which were done under sedation, but did with my third which was a GA.

Glad to hear that yours was a success.

I have the Aura migraine two days after my ablation. I couldn't focus or see out of one eye, it was very scary but went away and haven't had it happen since.

This is a very common side effect of ablation caused by the transeptal puncture and should pass after a week or two. Like lots of things ablation the doctors never tell you this.

I never new why I woke with a awful headache bob , thanks for that info , my vision is a bit off since ablation but didn't want to bring it up as thought I was going on to much 🙄

I also had a visual zig zag light show in my left eye on and off, but it stopped after about 5 days, mainly when waking for around half hour.

I also had the migraine the day after but that was gone by the morning as I slept it off, although I did have a bit of pressure behind the eyes for a few days after that, but nothing that pain killers couldn't shift.

Hope that helps.

Hi purple, yes I was also having these aura migraines each day post my ablation last Monday.. but yesterday and today I haven't so hoping they are gone for good now...! My EP said it would go within 3 or 4 weeks.

I also have a raging thirst for water too, ablation is a very fickle business, very groggy today. Loosing a few pounds though, which is always a billy bonus.

Thank you for sharing your experiences it has made me feel better 👍🏻

I had my ablation on Monday and have had 2 auras since. I used to have them years ago before af reared its ugly head. I find they go in twenty minutes.

Yes, these must be symptoms/consequences that are common with ablation.. I have been drinking water constantly too! Constantly thirsty.

Have had 12 days of auras, plus a couple of migraines. Did a bit of research, there's a Dutch academic paper from 2000 saying that these occur in about 16.7% of ablations, but cease by 3 months. They thought it was caused by the trans septal puncture

I also had a 2nd ablation on Monday and experienced my first aura only lasted 30 minutes. I was in there about 4 hours wonder if that plays a factor?
