Hi everyone, I had my ablation on Monday. I had been so scared about it despite reading all the posts on here for months. In my opinion the worst bit is lying still for 4 hours after the procedure. I can’t get over how complicated the equipment is and how talented and clever the EP’s are.Even if my procedure is not successful in the long term, I have already had two days in rhythm, and that is so wonderful.
I am following all the advice you lovely people have put on line, and having read some of the posts, my husband is fully on board at not letting me do anything, so today was devoted to Eastbourne tennis and next week Wimbledon starts. How lucky is that?
I haven’t posted on here before, but will definitely do so again.Thank you for all your posts.
Sue

Glad to hear all went well, I agree the peace of having a normal beating heart is amazing, for me it's over a year now and still beating normally, so fingers crossed it the same for you.
Best of luck, Sue. I’m two weeks ahead of you. Mine was for persistent atrial flutter which has left my heart rather weakened and in need of re-strengthening, but I’m still feeling very positive. I had a very bad breakthrough of what turned out to be atrial fibrillation last Friday, but since that, all has been well - even if feeling fragile is the norm for now.
I’d give it a fortnight of rest and then slowly build up according to how you feel.
Thx again Sue, for your extensive reply, thought I would reply direct v in someone else's post. My BP was a bit up again yesterday, now off the bisoprolol, as directed by the EP so hope I can stabilise that. Also self medicating with Magnesium taurate that I read about on here, and Beet Root N.O tabs that help oxygenate the blood.
Guess I'll have to still watch n wait over the next year. GP review on Weds.
Let me know how it all goes for u, hernia and AF.
Is this your first ablation too , as u had it for longer, maybe more paroxysmal? Mine jumped to persistent within a month or so.
Anyways day 3, n still ok, just a bit groggy n had a couple of migraines, woke without one today !
This was my first ablation, and yes I had paroxysmal AF. At first my bouts were quite short and infrequent. For the last two years I have had several episodes which meant I had to be hospitalised, the last one at Christmas was for 5 days, and I am very symptomatic and resistant to the drugs. I was cardioverted then and put forward for ablation.
In fact I had a bad night last night with loads of strange sensations in my chest. It seems to be subsiding slowly, so I think it is just part of the blanking period. My pulse stayed really steady throughout so I don't think its anything to worry over, it just means I feel drained today. I suspect I shall be retiring early tonight!
Sorry to hear that Sue, I didn't sleep well last night either, some flutteriness, but not for long N yes still steady around 65bpm. May need BP meds increase tho, as that's a bit up for me since stopping the Bisoprolol,
Yes one day at a time, so grateful I can take 4 weeks now to rest.
