I had a 5 hour double groin ablation 5 days ago have black and blue. I did not ice. I was told I should of iced.
Is it too late too ice?
Otherwise everything looks great. BPM now 60 down from 90!

That is a new one on me.
Many of us are black 'n blue from the groin almost to the knee.....in my view it's a great reminder of what the heart has been through during the procedure which is why it is vital to give it time to recover as we mention here many times.....ice probably will not do anything for the bruising which will may take 2/3 weeks or more to disappear....just be pleased it's all over now and enjoy the benefits of having it done!!.....
Thanks Flap.. I can't believe I'm at my BPM is only 60 it was 90 for about two months.

I am on a lot of drugs but it's such a good feeling to be slow down a bit ! Blood pressure is perfect him 120/70 but I never had high blood pressure anyway .
The weather heater is beautiful up in the Northeast right now I'm dying to go fishing but I have to take it easy for at least another week and Not do anything super exerted for at least a month or so.
Fingers crossed this last !
Once the acute injury is over and the bruise is there, the ice is not helpful as it keeps blood away that is needed to heal the tissue. At this point, some warm wet compresses will help if you are experiencing tenderness, but as far as the bruising goes, tincture of time is really all that you need. Be well.
