I have to be on Eliquis for a month before my ablation and 3 months after. Have people had pretty good success with Eliquis? What about Warfarin?
Thanks

I have been on Eliquis for 3 years, with no side-effect problems I can discern.
I have had no (knock on wood!) signs of a stroke.
I've been on Eliquis for 7+ years with no problems. Enjoy!
I have been on eliquis for 4 years no problems that I am aware of. I think these DOACs are preferable to warfarin now as there is less risk. If you have AF you chads score will no doubt increase with age, you may then have to be on it for life like a lot of us in this group
Warfarin didn’t work for me but Elequis/Apixaban was fine. Been on it for years and no problems. All best wishes.
Elequis is working fine for me for over 6 months. My EP told me that I would be on it for 3 months but it is clear that I will be on it for a while even though there is no sign of afib or other heart anomalies. The big issue, for us Americans, at least, is the cost. With insurance is about $500 per month which is double my food budget.
Been on Warfarin for almost 15 years come January 2025 No problems and I have had 2 surgical procedures and 1 scan when I had to cease Warfarin at different times. Two years ago I tried Edoxaban at the behest of my GP ....... total disaster. I TOLD my GP I would never take the NOAC's and will return to Warfarin (which I have done) ... end of .... these new anticoagulants have been put into the healthcare market far too quickly in my personal view. Plenty of lab research not enough marketplace research !
I think most people never take the time or trouble to understand Warfarin and to understand the interaction between Warfarin, food and drink .... if you don't do this, can't be bothered or read inappropriate comments on forums like this you are on a very slippery slope. Of course from marketing perspective its a good strategy to put one drug down and boost the drug you are trying to promote.
Many people (myself included) have seen accelerated hair loss while taking Eliquis (apixaban). The same is likely true for all DOACs. Other than the potential for accelerated hair loss, taking Eliquis seems to produce zero (or very minor) side effects.
I tried Eliquis for a few months because it was deemed the best for AF. I returned to Xarelto as Eliquis gave m e heartburn. In the months I was taking Eliquis and a couple of months after, I was brushing out a lot of hair which i put down to old age ! Now I've been back on Xarelto for 9 months, the hair loss has minimised dramatically - I don't know if it's a coincidence.
I believe there are several studies that seem to show similar efficacy between Warfarin and Eliquis for AF patients. Obviously with eliquis you don’t have the need for constant monitoring which for many is a great convenience. That might be simpler for your short use period.
I’ve been on eliquis for two years without any issues.
T'm sure Eliquis is very effective, but it gave me heartburn so I went back to Xeralto which does not give me a problem
