Hello,

I am considering for another medical condition. I take Eliquis. Has anyone had experience with this and is acupuncture safe to do with Eliquis?

Of course check with the acupuncturist, but I'd think it's ok. I have blood drawn all the time with needles much bigger. Please report back what you find and if the treatment helps.

I’ve had it done several times with no problems, didn’t do anything for me either.

Acupuncture is fine with any anticoagulant.

I’ve had it for back pain - no problem with the Eliquis and it did help.

Perfectly ok, you don’t bleed from acupuncture as the needles are so fine, least I’ve never had a problem. Good for pain relief and addictions and helped with sleep - did nothing for AF.

I am doing this for pain relief while I am in physical therapy for pelvic pain. The pain disrupts my sleep. Either I can't fall asleep or the pain wakes me up. Pain pills interact with my heart meds.

long term pain is so debilitating. A few years back I had acupuncture withEliquis. No problem and the acupuncture did help.

Hello Jill

I have had acupuncture a lot over the past few years, no problems and a lot of benefit. Please be sure to pick one who is registered with the BACc and qualified to degree level as in the UK it is unregulated therefore people can practice with very little training. BACc provides a list of their members who comply with recognised professional standards.

Hope this helps. Best wishes

Michele

Hi Jill

I used to use acupuncture frequently when I was a practicing physio and I never once drew blood.. I would be worried about the acupuncturist’s technique if it did cause a bleed!

I am on Xarelto and I have acupuncture at my podiatrist. It is usually no problem although occasionally I end up with a bruise.

acupuncture is perfectly fine to do with Eliquis. I have been doing it for years with Eliquis for a chronic condition as well as to try and help my AF which it would stop episodes for a while then stop working. But for my lungs and circulation I will never stop getting treatments.

Had acupuncture with Eliquis. No problem. Didn't do much for my AF but was very relaxing.
