Abilation process

I have had two heart valves replacements 8 years ago and now I am suffering from AF waiting to see specialist for Abilation. I have little info on abilation. I would be grateful if anyone who have had this procedure to give me some inside info please.

Go to AF Association main website and read the downloadable booklet on ablation for a full explanation. I had three no problems. Not at operation but a procedure but does involve a special doctor putting a catheter into your heart via a vein in your groin and furkling about a fair bit.

Are you saying Abilation procedure is not permanent cure for AF??

When you see your specialist, ask him about the strong correlation between heart valve replacements and AF, and at the same time what the statistics are for a successful outcome of an ablation with those of us who have replacement valves. I have had three ablations, the longest lasted for 2 years. Now the option seems to be an AV ablation with pacemaker, and from the many posts on this site, it may well be the most successful, I am just trying to find the courage to make that decision. I wish you well in your journey.
