Can anyone advise me please

I had my 3rd ablation 3 days ago and my heart rate is fluctuating and feels like a flutter. My EP told me in recovery that he wasnt hopeful that it had been successful, he discontinued flecanaide because they are not working so only on Tildiem and Endoxaban. I have read all the info on recovery but i am feeling really low about this. x

Seriously it is far too early to worry yet. If you have read our fact sheet you will know this so please relax and rest for now.

How do you know it’s going up to 180? Not suggesting it isn’t but if you keep checking it’s like negative feedback - I made the mistake of showing my husband in hospital how to video call me on WhatsApp - the wow wow was horrible because our phones were too close, and you get the mental echo when you see what your heart is doing. Try to relax, do something distracting and put a strict limit on your heart checks.

I wish for you that it turns out better than expected 🍀

Hi Thank you, I dont check it often havent had to because I have felt ok until a few hours ago just resting i felt it suddenly going fast. I have a bp machine that i use occaisionally to check bp when requested by GP and reading was high. It is still fast now but between 120 to 150 I have a pacemaker so have downloaded the readings from that to the hosp. I am just keeping as calm as I can xx

Oh, so sorry you’re feeling awful. As you know from having other ablation, 3 days is way too soon to worry. Of course, knowing that doesn’t stop us from worrying does it! I suspect many of us have experienced that. Did your dr give you any reason that he wasn’t feeling positive about the outcome? My 3rd ablation finally zapped my afib problems, but the dr couldn’t get the tachycardia to trigger, so frustrating. Hope you’re getting lots of rest and feeling calmer.

Thank you, yes it is hard not to worry but didnt have this level of prolonged high heartrate after my other 2. My Consultant has been very good I have had various meds over the last 2 years and a pacemaker also but has been unable to stabilse my condition. Before the last resort of av node ablation he wanted to try a 3rd ablation but told me after that he was unable to stop the multiple flutters he found. xx

It IS early days. I too was told post ablation that they weren't sure of success. I now feel significantly better 60% of the time. It took a month for things to calm.down and then a slow climb to where I am now.
