I think I have Carpel Tunnel and was thinking of using my Tens machine. I was wondering if it was safe to use with AF. I have used a one before I was diagnosed with Carpel tunnel in my other wrist. I did read somewhere saying it might not be ?

Tens Machine.
hi Jacksnanna,
I have paroxysmal Af, it has been incredibly well controlled since April 2015 and I have used my TENS machine on my OA knee with no side effects on my AF . I have since had a partial knee replacement and that's fixed the problem totally. Surgery on the knee was no problem despite the AF and being on a range of meds including Warfarin and Bisoprolol.
John
Thanks !
I've used one without problems. I asked my GP about using one, with me having AF, and she confidently said yes but to keep it away from my heart.
.....not saying she's right, but that's what she said and I'm still here!

Thanks Koll.
Be very careful about a carpal tunnel diagnosis.
Over 5 years ago I was given this diagnosis, had a steroid injection and was issued with a wrist splint. This year I had a nerve test done as my hand is now very numb and I have lost feeling in my thumb and 2 fingers. There is nothing wrong with my carpal tunnel.
A neurologist arranged an MRI scan of my spine which showed a narrowing in my neck at C5 and C6. C5 affects the nerves to your hands and C6 to your feet. 86 weeks after referral a spinal surgeon has diagnosed herniated discs in my neck and stated that the problem with my hand should have indicated a problem with my neck.
I am having an operation to remove the discs next month as my dexterity and mobility are severely compromised.
I haven't been diagnosed yet Jeenydog. I have had carpel tunnel in my other wrist years ago. I had the op for it and have been ok with that. This does feel different but its still very painful. What a bad time you have had . That's terrible the way you have been treated.
