Not want you want to find out is it? I'm with you on amazement but I doubt that carotid artery checks are automatic with AF. I've never had one for sure. Stable door/horse gone springs to mind.

Yes Bob true but I was in hosp 8days with chf they did a multitude of tests including a angiogram to look for blockages echocardiograms I have had 5 by the way had no plaque in the arteries to my heart any way they have found it now but when I think of all those CVs I have had thank goodness for anticoagulant

Thanks Jean have to see a vascular surgeon and may be have a carotid artery angiogram to see what they will do I think that's what doc said it was a bit of a shock

carotid dopplers would normally only be done if you have symptoms/ signs of TIA. Decision about surgery not easy as risk of a stroke during operation and concerns if you also have heart failure. See what the surgeon thinks, usually no surgery unless greater than 70% occlusion

Professor at Imperial College speaking of carotid artery surgery said 'Don't be first in the queue for that"

I believe I am not a candidate for it anyway because of my other heart issues Not even thinking about it xx

I had the Doppler scan earlier this year and all is relatively well.

Certainly won't be rushing into anything without a lot of thought and research will talk to cardio and EP for imput

Gout can be treated with diet. Avoid a lot of red meat I think, and put a tablespoon of organic cider vinegar in a glass of water, and sip it through the day, or drink before breakfast (If 1 tbsp is too much, use 1 tsp to start with, and gradually build up as you get used to it). Use cider vinegar in cooking whenever you can, as it helps to neutralise the acid which is causing the problems. Any kind of beans/pulses are good too, and not too much fruit.
