Went to see my ep other day I'm having a icd fitted but they don't know wich one either a 5 yr one r a 7 yr one grrrr (battery)πππππππ
Icd: Went to see my ep other day I'm... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Icd
I personally wouldn't worry about the life of the battery but more about the functionality of the ICD. If there is more info and settings with the 5 year one then I would go for that even if you don't need all of them at this point in time. Conversely if more on 7 year one go for that.
Not sure what age you are or other healthco-morbities but also consider the replacement timing. That may push you to earlier replacement if you are reasonably ok now / in 5 years time because then you are likely to get one that lasts you 7 to 10 years. However if health is likely to be an issue in 5 years time then 7 year one becomes more attractive.
At the end of the day it's a risk assessment and / or a toss up!!!
How do you find out what you've got in your chest ? Mines a pacemaker but that's all I know. I presume you're talking about a defibrillator or am I wrong ?
I've got to go and see a different ep in Sheffield and have some tests first
