Sorry to hear that you've had such a rough go with 2 strokes. Typically intensive therapy starts almost immediately, the sooner the better, but that doesn't mean that improvement can't continue over time and there is always a chance for more improvement. My advice would be to seek your doctor's order for the best therapist that you can through your local rehabilitation center. Not sure where you are located, but obviously health system protocols differ from country to country but start with a phone call to initiate more P.T. Good nutrition is super important as you heal and take care of your baby. Wishing your the best.

I am guessing that you are in the UK? If so phone the UK Stroke Association patients helpline.

My husband had two strokes eight years ago. We were told that there was a six month window for improvement and recovery. My GP however said that progress is ongoing and we have certainly found that to be the case. The brain works hard to open up new pathways to compensate for those which have been destroyed by the stroke. Do get in touch with the stroke association, they will be able to tell you what is available in your area and advise on your needs. Rehabilitation is hard work and ongoing. Good luck.

I agree with Peddling. I had a stroke 5 years ago and I am still finding improvement. It was rapid for the first 6 months but now after all this time it still shows steady, slow improvement except if I'm tired things slow down. Good luck and keep well.
