Breathless on propafenone
No taken it often and only thing I find is slightly metallic taste. We are all different mind.
I was told not good for people with asthma but mine is not very bad so I was given it to try. I take asthma meds every day anyway. Otherwise I find it makes me feel a bit sick a while after taking it. I had a bitter taste for a while too. I much prefer it to how I felt before!
I've been taking it every day since my ablation, but have not experienced anything that noticeable. When I first took it I was a little short of breath on exertion, but chalked that up to being a little out of shape since i had been sick prior to the ablation. Now I've been on it for 4+ months and I realized I can run up 3 flights of stairs carrying my 28 lb grandson, and I'm still not out of breath! Hopefully it will work well for you to keep you in rhythm, and as you adjust, your symptoms will subside,
I took Propafenone (Arythmol) for 2-3 years and had no side-effects except bad memory. It stopped my 24/7 arrhythmia completely. But I've also been put on other drugs that work for most other people and yet made me worse.
So we're all different, might be worth telling your cardio and asking for a change in drugs? I had to try 4 different ones before we got success.

After my ablation for SVT last fall. It's didn't work completely and my Cardiologist put me on Metoprolol and Flecainide and I haven't had any problems since. He wanted me to have another ablation and I couldn't do it, being awake and feeling every zap for 3 hrs was enough for me..I will take the pills.
I had my first ablation under sedation but when it started to hurt I groaned and they put me out. Next thing woke up in bed. Next ablation, ten years later, was under GA so was out for the count from square one.
Hi, I took this for about 7 days and had to come off it, breathless, feeling sickly and just definitely not well, it was a horrible feeling. I took this for the CV. At the moment I'm back on the Atenolol, (I hate this medication). My last CV was 2 months ago (had 2 Ablations and 4 Cardioversions) and suddenly last week my heart rate has gone up to 90 resting, not in AF but I get the feeling that any day soon......it's like the heart is trying to go into AF, weird feeling. Keep a track of how you feel and mention at your next appointment.
Stay well.
