Good morning fellow AFers ,Has anyone any experience of the ECG mobile monitoring machine ALIVECOR.
It looks a very interesting device for giving an instant recording of your ECG on your phone, and seems easy to operate.

Hi Peter I've had one for a few weeks now and its certainly a clever gadget. I use mine with a Nexus 7 tablet I haven't stuck it on but it works with the Alivecor close to the tablet. It suits me to use it like this occasionally rather than carry it around all the time but I guess it depends on your AF and what you want from it. Electrical interference is an issue. I can't use mine at the kitchen table for some reason. After a few uses I have to wipe the contacts and my fingers with an alcohol wipe or I get interference. I would recommend. Heather
Had one since they came out ( UK trial team). Fine if you are trying to get a diagnosis but my own view is that once you have that, it is just something else to keep you focussed on your AF rather than getting on with life. Be careful that you do not get OCD about it. Interference has always been a problem for me., not just electrical as it is sensitive to ultrasonic noise as well.

Hi Peter,
Got mine delivered yesterday, had a few problems getting it set up. I will see how I get on with it over the weeks ahead.
I agree with BobD comments, it's there if I need it.
Best Wishes
Barry
I got mine thru tellmenow.com . UK agents for Alivecor, so I phone them
tel. 0800 246 1939, and my problem was dealt with quickly. Most helpful people. You might try the phone no.

If you search for Alivecor on this website you will find many lively (sorry!) discussions about it.
Got one, use it with my iPhone 5c. Works fine. I don't use it very much at all but like to every now and again if I think there's something going on. Then I would just keep that recording till if and when I needed it, which so far is never! People have said they have got action from doctors only because they can provide evidence on the recordings, so if you're in that position might be worth a go.
Last time I looked, the previous models were going quite cheap and probably do much the same......that's a guess.

I love mine. I've had it for 2 years and it has caught many things that a holter monitor couldn't catch in 15 years ! However, I think the main advantage for me is for reassurance that I'm in NSR when I'm having doubt.
Worth every penny.
Pat.
Hi , I have it since a year , yes it is easy and my doctor liked it , it works as event recorder through one lead
Good luck
Love mine. Got it with a case for my iPhone 5s as Pat said, it catches episodes that the halter monitors couldn't. My EP was very impressed with the app and the print outs I took for him, so if it's good enough for him it's good enough for me! It's reassurance that I can take a recording when in AFib for someone to look at.
They've done a few updates on the app since I've had mine and I don't like the new layout but suppose I'll get used to it. Think that's the only downside, that when they do an update it's for the American market so it takes a few days afterwards to sort the UK app out!

Personally, I wouldn't be without it - so often on this forum there are questions like "are they ectopics or is it AF ?" - with an Alivecor you know.
All the best

Love it, wouldn't be without it especially when travelling. Probably saved my husbands life as he wasn't feeling well and we did an AliveCor trace which he took to his GP - you can print them fro the app- diagnosed with severe bradycardia and had a pacemaker implanted a few weeks later.
I always found it very reassuring, I only used it if I felt something unless I was asked to, which I was, to take a daily reading by my EP.
