Hi all,
I had my Ablation Monday, they said all went well.
Just a quick question, my chest did feel a bit tight, but thats getting better, now when I eat or drink , I really feel it going past a point of my oesophagus, anybody else had this?
Thanks

Hi, I had my ablation Monday too and had similar after effects as you. However my chest discomfort has gone and overall I feel pretty damn good (Early days for us both at the moment though). The discomfort in my chest has subsided each morning I have awoken. No groin issues and everything seems to be beating as it should.
I hope your chest discomfort goes shortly and wishing you all the best for a successful recovery.
Sounds like your oesophagus may be slightly inflamed. Since it sits very close to the heart this is not uncommon but is should settle down in a few days. If not do speak to the hospital (arrhythmia nurse) or EP's secretary and explain. It is very early days yet. Rest plenty and don't over do things

Sounds like post Ablation gastro-oesophageal reflux disease which my EP says is not unusual following Ablation....These symptoms do get better with time... The consultant put me on Lansoprazole...I suggest masticating each mouthful of food thoroughly otherwise it can be extremely uncomfortable...Carol...
Thanks for the replies
I feel a bit better now knowing it's not unusual
Best of luck with your recovery as well Jason.
I have an appointment to see my cardiologist Thursday so if no better will mention it to him.
Thanks Again
Nick
