Times like this I understand what you folks with PAF go through.

I am in permanent and only real symptoms are being shattered at end of day

However today I am best man at sons wedding

Can feel heart pounding away

Slight nausea

Fuzzy head etc

Am aware its anxiety / stress but how you guys cope with this long term - respect

Eddie

How do we cope? As Winston Churchill said "Keep Buggering on!".

I think there's some interesting psychological stuff that goes on. When anyone is working hard, at some point, the body says something like "Hey, ease up a bit!". I sometimes feel that the message isn't quite sent at the right time when I'm in AF - either I could do more without difficulty or I'm already wiped out. Of course, the result is you start to not trust the messages your body is sending - and that isn't good.

Good Luck with the wedding! :)

The body is an interesting thing. For years I always found that with any kind of major event coming up I would start to get cold/flu symptoms. Getting ready for holidays, Christmas, new posting at work, taking the Chair in my Lodge. all of them were done in a fog of flu remedies yet the following day I would be clear. It took me years for the penny to drop that this was my body protesting that it didn't want to have the stress. Remember disease is actually dis-ease . I'm not quite sure how we all deal with this but obviously some are better than others.

I have been in persistent AF since end of May and although was very bad at the start it then settled on the Bisoprolol to a steady quiet AF then my Mother was taken in to hospital and visiting every day for 3 weeks. She passed away 2 weeks ago and have been so busy clearing the house which has to go back to the Council I have just ignored my pounding heart but the funeral is tomorrow and today I can hardly drag myself around and hoping that I can make it through tomorrow. Stress is so bad for us AF sufferers. Try to relax take deep breaths and enjoy yourself.

Great big virtual hug from a not pretty overweight second row rugby player.

The adrenalin or whatever took me through the emotions of wedding

It's a bit of an after the party day today but feel much more normal today.

Your memories and love of mum will help you through stress and pain tomorrow

Love Eddie

Sorry to hear about you mum it sounds as if you have had a rough few months maybe when tomorrow is over you will have a chance to look after your self and the AF will calm down x
