Interesting reading about Earthing. I saw something about it a couple of years ago. Thanks.

Be wary, Dr Mecola is probably one of the most contravertial US doctors. Google his name. I used to follow his site but I came to the conclusion I had to be very careful to check out anything he recommended as he is 'big business' orientated and now a very wealthy man. Nothing wrong with being successful but there have been question marks?

Just a personal opinion, but beware of getting drawn in to his site and 'newsletter'.

I went to a Chiropractor for acupuncture about 1yr ago, which did help initially, he also recommended earthing my feet on either sand or grass and it feels so good too. I still continue with this.

I have always believed we should be naturally closer to the earth, but its even better when the weather is warm as it is in Australia. I haven't heard of Dr Mecola but there are plenty of others who are of the same mind I would guess. Try it it feels good if nothing else! and doesn't cost you anything.

I tried it but could not pick up the benefit. However I will restart now, thanks for reminding me, as there are no downsides in summer and the bit I read (maybe in that article also) is that benefits can accrue after just 3 mins twice a day.

Fascinating stuff. I can quite believe there is some truth in this. Will give it a try.

Coincidentally I read an article on Earthing just a short while ago in 'The New Scientist' publication and thought how much sense it made.

I developed plantar fasciitis(so painful!) in one of my feet around 3 years ago and needed to wear slippers for the first time in my life. The PF has gone now and although I had got used to slippers, I'm back to bare feet after reading that article. I go barefoot indoors and out in the garden.

(I've been doing plenty of barefooting on sand this past week as I'm in Barbados at the moment! ; )

Pat, if you have suffered from Plantar fasciitis then I would still be very very careful about spending so much time barefoot as it can come back. I always used to walk barefoot & then changed to ballerina flatties after i broke a bone in my foot ( walking into a door frame, as you do ).However this does not give good support longterm. Since my P/fasciitis which lasted nearly 12 months up until March this year I would never go barefoot for any length of time , ditto wear ballerinas. I wear shoes/slides indoors with a 1 inch heel. I have a friend in a similar position who swears by fit - flops but they don't suit my foot shape . Must admit though that barefooting it in the sand in Barbados might be a different matter..........!

Thanks Sandra. I do watch out. I'm fearful of it coming back as I know it could. I wear fit flops also and almost nothing else now. Fit flop sandals then boots. My PF lasted over a year. I was beginning to think it was permanent when I just realised one day that it wasn't there any more! I think mine was actually caused by a pair of trainer thingies I bought with a 'rocker' shaped sole. Meant to work your leg muscles. After the second wear I woke the morning unable to put my right foot on the floor. After that I kept a foot roller next to my bed and had to use that before I could take one step. I happened to have an osteopath appointment a day or two after it first came on and it was her who made the diagnosis. I'd never heard of it. She gave my foot a good forceful massage that day and I walked out normally! Course it only lasted til I got out of bed the next day : ))

Well it's 10am here and a glorious day!

I'm tempting fate saying this but I've been here a week and only had one evening of multiple PACs and they were after 2 rum punches(they make them strong). I'm still having the odd cocktail or beer but it was the 2 punches in 45 mins that did the damage.

Off back to my sunbed now ; )

I had PF after I was nearly thrown through a bus front windscreen. I got up to get off when the driver decided to slam on the breaks I went from 0 to 60 to the front of the bus. very painful. Don't want that again!
