Concerned that I have a COLD that started Tuesday, Feb 12, 2025 I felt tired and kind of lower energy, no fever. 🤧 Slept more the next few days and was sneezing and COUGHING so I used coughdrops and drank more water. Friday Feb 14th I started taking MUCINEX to thin MUCAS, still no fever.
Took a Covid test - result was Negative. QUESTION: In your opinion do you think I can still get chemo this week despite this chest mucas and is it alright to keep taking mucinex? I just sent a message to my DO and await their reply. Unsure if that requires a delay of chemo for a few days to be careful? 🤔

prior to every infusion she would listen to my chest along with the vital signs. I wasnt experiencing anything like you but she heard some congestion in my lungs and delayed my infusion a few days until the congestion cleared.
I hope otherwise your treatment has been going well. Knocking down the PC without extreme side effects.
I forgot you started chemo and now your about to have the 4th infusion.
Thank you, yes otherwise the chemo is knocking down my PC tumors and PSA is staying low. I just heard back from my DO to come in a day prior for bloodwork and as long as I still don't have a FEVER they think I can likely still get treatment this week. Actually I just remembered this will be my 5th treatment, not fourth.
Im doin good. Pluvicto really was the secret ingredient so far in my 5 years of treatments. Not so for everyone so really lucky. Its benefit has been the longest I've had and side effects about nil (no saliva production). I have another thing going on though that comes and goes (vomiting syndrome) and poor appetite that puts a crimp in things off and on. But seriously these are good times for me on the PC front.
I was thinking about my chemo I mentioned to you. That was back in January 2020. Still lived in Chicagoland then. About 3 days or so before my first infusion the first covid case(s) appeared in Chicago. In Illinois for that matter. So anyway when she heard chest congestion under the early days of Covid I think she was being extra cautious with the awareness of our reduced immune abilities, lowered WBC's, typically while getting chemo.
Anyway lol. Good to hear its movin the needle in the right direction for ya. I have to say I had some struggles with chemo side effects but had strong convictions in wanting it. I remember at diagnosis her saying chemo is given early these days rather than later. I liked hearing that lol.
I had a bad head cold come on the day after chemo #3. I was more miserable than usual, but got through it ok. I was also getting injections of Neulasta, my white blood cells crashed, and absolute neutrofils were 0.0 That on top of the cold and chemo was rough for a few days.
