metastatic left mesorectal lymph common outcome in PETCT scan post biopsy ?

If Biopsy and PET CT scan is done with in a week, will this result in pet ct scan incorrectly showing metastasis mesorectal lymph node? As per doctor this is a very common outcome as my dad’s biopsy was done on 7/12/2024 and PETCT scan was done on 12/12/2024. I am very scared of metastases mentioned and being dismissed by doctors

I had a positive scan for mesorectal node, but it was a possible false positive right at the minimum SuV level. RO treated it anyway in IMRT mapping. Found a paper saying these nodes are not in the typical chain of metastasis, and I thought it may have been from the biopsy, but will never know.

Hello, my dad’s MRI post 3 month firmagon showed no metastasis on lymph node.

Ok, not sure how sensitive an MRI is for detecting lymph node mets. You might ask your doctor for another PSMA scan when it is appropriate if PSA increases to approx >0.2-0.5.
