Generic Cialis vs Generic Viagra

I've never used either but am planning to ask my docs about writing an Rx.

Any pluses or minuses to either according to you veterans of it?

Thanks.

Cialis works and will help with blood pressure too. Two weeks and I wake up with wood. Hey Don👍

That’s great- what is your daily dosage?

5 mg

I’ve used (and like) both but find daily 5 mg cilais and 20 mg cilais “when needed” to work best for me. Also, the daily 5 mg of cilais has some health benefits apart from helping with erections; helps prevent atrophy of penile tissue while on ADT, helps improv urinary flow and helps counteract the cardiovascular risks with ADT.

wondered how long it took to work. In three weeks on Generic Cialis I’ve noticed a little more blood flow at 5mg a day but not much. No morning wood at all when do you chaps take it?

Thanks for any help.

Mike

I take my daily 5 mg in the evening, and if possible I try to time the 20 mg cilas two hours before intimate time since it has the strongest effect at that time.

If cilais or viagra helps enough with erections for intercourse and morning wood depends on prior treatments, ADT and general health. Most people on ADT or other hormone treatments also need to use a penis pump to simulate the nocturnal erections to prevent penis atrophy.

If cilais or viagra isn’t enough to achieve an erection for intercourse many people are successful using the pump and a penis ring to keep the penis in “happy state”.

Same. Husband takes a low dose Cialis as well for its other health benefits.

I have been doing the gen Cialis. Has been a positive experience for several reasons- morning wood, pump play more productive, plus general feeling of more energy and willingness to exercise. I would say go for it - see how you like it

good luck

I never tried anything like that because I am not curable, otherwise I would probably try.

Q. Cialis side effects:

A. Cialis (tadalafil) is a medication commonly used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). While it is generally well-tolerated, it can cause side effects. Below is a list of potential side effects:

Common Side Effects

Headache

Flushing (redness or warmth in the face, neck, or chest)

Nasal congestion

Indigestion or heartburn

Back pain

Muscle aches

Dizziness

Less Common Side Effects

Blurred vision or changes in color perception

Ringing in the ears (tinnitus)

Prolonged erection (priapism), which requires immediate medical attention

Low blood pressure (can lead to fainting or dizziness)

Serious Side Effects (Rare)

Severe allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling, difficulty breathing)

Heart attack symptoms (chest pain, shortness of breath)

Stroke symptoms (sudden weakness or numbness, trouble speaking)

Vision loss in one or both eyes (rare condition called NAION)

Hearing loss or decrease in hearing

Important Considerations

Avoid combining Cialis with nitrate medications (e.g., nitroglycerin), as this can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure.

Use cautiously if you have preexisting heart conditions, liver or kidney issues, or other medical conditions.

Alcohol consumption can increase the risk of side effects like dizziness or low blood pressure.

If you experience severe or concerning side effects, seek medical attention immediately. Always follow your healthcare provider’s guidance when using Cialis.

I use it daily at just 2.5mg (cut 5sin half) I find that’s all I need to help with urine flow and erections. Most of the side effects are not that common at low doses. I definitely get the stuffy nose though. At 10mg I’ll get a bit of headache but that dose is too high for me. That said, I would use cialis over viagra as it stays in your system and, as mentioned, can provide some other benefits.

Viagra is more for "episodic use" as it is not long lasting. Cialis has a much longer half life and is the one more commonly used by urologists for chronic treatment for PCa patients.

when I was treated in Finland, they also added a meeting with one in there medical team who was specialized in among ’penile rehabilitaion’, especially after radiation and on ADT.

Lots of very good discussions on the use of PDI5 inhibitors, penile pumps and etc.

Daily Cialis 5 mg is recommended for help with better blood flow and like somebody said, it mitigates risks of damage to the penis, especially on ADT, low or Libido gone and the obvious; the erection function is not that great.

She showed med studies and trials of actually using dual modalities of PD5 inhibitors, for example the daily dose of Tadalafil and if possible to have intimacy with functional erection you can boost those intimate moments by also adding for example Sildenafil

With the help of her over time I’ve found a PDI5 path that works with Tadalafil daily and then I vary at the days of intimacy with adding either 50 mg Sildenafil or 100 mg Spedra. The variations is not ’that works better then the other’ but even when your using PDI5 inhibitors especially long term, variation is good.

So, if your able to have some erection function while on ADT, it might be good to experiment with PDI5 inhibitors to see if you can boost your sexual function.

And for you not on ADT, it always ok to test and see if any efficacy and then find what works best for you

Thanks. Never heard of PDI5 inhibitors but will research.

PDI5 inhibitors is the actual common term for Sildenafil (Viagra), Tadalafil (Cialis), Spedra etc.

Hi ulfhbg,

That is very interesting. Do you have any links or info about ”variation is good”?

ulfhbg profile image
ulfhbg in reply toMike1971

My discussions with her was and are for two purposes

- Using PDI5 inhibitors for my ’penile rehab’ while on long term ADT to try to mitigate the risks of ED and damage to the penis

- As I’m able to still have erection, even with almost vanished libido, while on Orgovyx and Abiraterone, the use of PDI5 inhibitors is to try to increase the erection function when being intimate

From recommendations by her I have experimented with standalone and combinations and notice more positive effects with combinations for my part

But when we had our meetings and dialogs, the clinics own research showed positive outcomes for some of it’s PC patients on active treatment and still being able to have erection functions and positive outcome using combinations.

She also showed me some studies / trials, mainly on people with ED doing a combination so I add some of the links

I remember seeing some interesting post by UK Cancer research (I believe) that actually adressed the treating of ED, erection function and part of penile rehab when on ADT, and looking into combinations

But of course, the mainstay of using PDI5 inhibitors is as stand alone.

Get a script from your doctor, print out a GoodRx coupon and take it to Costco for either choice or get both.

If you decide to go with generic Cialis or Viagra, look first to "friday plans." You first have to have an online doctor interview (free to you) for approval, and if things go well you can order these pills for around 1$-2$ each (and even less on the first order!).
