I had a visit with Dr. Denmeade this afternoon. My interest was in two areas. Theses areas were BAT and gut micrombe’s effect on prostate cancer patients.
He was incredibly attentive and was taking notes as I told him my 24 year story battling PCa. and offered no condemnation for postponing treatment. He asked me what I did as an alternative and my recipe and procedure for my cleanses. We also talked about our families and hobbies.
Between the time I made my appointment and today my Psa that was doubling every three months dropped from 6.72 to 5.7 in four weeks. Alp that was running in the 80s dropped to 63. His plan is to wait for the next Psa test and if it doesn’t climb proceed with no changes. If it climbs he will stop prednisone and switch to dexamethasone. After that he will work with my Uro and start BAT. He floated some clinical trials for me to think about but the trial we discussed had three arms and it was random. Also if I go into a trial I would have to drive to Baltimore every month.
I asked him about a test to see if I am a candidate for bat and he said that there was no single test but by testing guys under the therapy they can see who may benefit. One was mutations picked up by genetic testing. He did mention my 5664 peak Psa and said men with ultra high Psa levels seem to respond well.
My current MO seems to leave me run low on Abi at times. Mid Oct. I changed from one Abi a day with food to four a day without food. Denmeade was very interested that when I had my last Psa I was taking 4 a day and this time I was taking 4 a day for the first two weeks and 1 a day for the second two weeks. He may think there is a connection but I have chalked it up to Devine intervention.
Since I have benefited from others sharing on this forum I wanted to share my experience.
God Bless, Gary
