We are all different but I actually had to stop Zytiga during my radiation due to severe drop in lymphocytes. Started again after radiation was over and at a reduced dosage. Lymphocytes recovered after a year or two.
My stage 4b pc started in early 2023 with a psa level 1500! Thought it was just old age joint pain. Boy was I wrong. Did the degarelix lupron and xtandi routine and worked well for over a year pain gone but tired of course. That brought the psa down to the 300 level then due to psa rises I added docetaxel. The chemo started my short term disability at work and wiped my butt so now after 8 rounds I stopped that. In retirement now I’m restarting lupron and xtandi to see if it will in the short term get me to maybe psa 4. Of course already having one psma-ct scan the next step if pain returns and psa heads up again that will be the time for me to venture into another psma scan and start Pluvicto. Atleast for me chemo side effects just caused too many side effects….lost all my hair and fingernails. The worst was the epiphora on the eye ducts besides the exhaustion. So now I try to limit my number of drugs all at once so I can isolate what drugs cause the worst side effects. Once in a blue moon I would get horrible back pain but a tramadol got rid of it. Someday I may need daily opiates but for now I stick to legal daily doses of delta 9 since I’m now retired. Lost so much weight that helps with the loss of appetite as my tastebuds come back after the chemo stole them! Anyways that’s my story and I’m sticking to it for now. Cancer is a full time patient research job now. What works for one may not work for another in this game of chess🎅Best of luck to all and Merry Christmas to all!
