I was able to walk the Inaugural LA Blue Jacket Fashion Show on Wednesday for ZERO prostate, probs cuz of my involvement with fundraising, numerous 5ks and 4 NYC marathons for Team ZERO.
I was the scrawny lil kid amidst dozens of Tall Handsome men.
Chatted with Micheal Richards (Kramer) he had prostate out 5 years ago. Also chatted with Onco Dr. John Shen from LA, he walked also.
What a surreal happening. Drove down Weds and did the Hollywood Reservoir hike as I had time. Call time at 4:30 pm at the W Hotel in Hollywood. Callaway Golf sent an outfit (I don't Golf😜), I sent in measurements after the Camino. Was greeted by Johnson and Johnson reps and went up to hair and makeup on the 11th floor (vid in album), then up a floor for a walk through. Down to the Lobby for the Blue Carpet pix and back up to event. It happened so fast, I gave 🤙s to the crowd and then we all came out for an encore walk and I recorded the audience out there. Had to change, as Callaway wanted their outfit back. Missed the after party and went to the Thompson Hotel that JnJ paid for, they asked if they could send a car for me,🤣 told them I was 140 miles away. facebook.com/reel/333597966...
Next day did the Hollywood Sign hike then drove back up.
Brings back memories from 30 years ago learning English by watching Seinfeld on our tiny tv. Thanks again. Great for you to be part of those amazing events.
Oh how awesome, may I ask what your first language is? I'm honored to represent my Brothers still Fightin the Good Fight and those who've passed. Btw, I added another article and a link to all of us walkers.
Awww Mahalo nui los Sista Jackie, got an email from ZERO early Aug asking if I'd do it, of course I said Sure😁. Then my local paper wanted an interview 😜
Mahalo nui loa Bruddah GB, what a crazy World that is😜.
A rep came to the back and asked who hasn't done hair/makeup, so I got Leslie. She was very nice, and me being a goofball made that comment, along with don't try and do eyebrows on me, they never grew back and were my badge of Honor😁
I was the Stranger in a Strange Land - one of my fav Heinlein books. Chaotic and noisy in the Make up area, then serene as we waited for the Blue Carpet pix. A J and J rep took a selfie with "Kramer" and introduced me to him, we then chatted for while. He was funny and engaging. Had prostate out at 70 and doing well, I showed him my "10 years" tat and spoke of the Camino. He said that he might wanna take his 13 yr old to walk it.
I asked the rep if I could wear my Memorial sign from the Camino on my back. She said No that I was to only wear what Callaway sent me😔. I shoulda snuck it under my shirt and brought it all at the end of the runway where we had to stop and strike a pose😂
Mahalo nui loa Sista, I'm honored to have been selected to represent my Brothers here and taken by dang PCa. When I saw the list of Walkers, Micheal Richards was the only one I recognized, shows my naivete 😜
Bruddah you rocked it again! You represent us awesomely . Thank you for being a voice for so many all of us . You are an absolute inspiration. Your QoL posts are so helpful on those days that are tougher than others.
