cbd and pain?

Had Rp June of 23 and 37 treatments of radiation. Currently on Orgovyx, abi and prednisone about 12 months now. I’m having some pretty severe joint pain and just wondering what others are doing to manage it. I was doing well with exercise and then it just forced me to slow down. I am getting some people telling me to try cbd. I also am on BCG treatment for bladder cancer. Have an appointment with urologist oncologist this week but not until December with Medical Oncologist. Just wanted to throw it out there for any opinions.

Joint pain is probably not due to prostate cancer. Discuss with your General Practitioner. He will probably prescribe one of the NSAID drugs.

I personally believe it might be from the drug combination I’m on and will be for at least another year. Been on NSAID for years. MO was shocked that I was taking them. Told me to go to Tylenol. Don’t help me at all. Just looking for alternatives and I’m hearing some good things about CBD.

Hi !

Both Orgovyx and Abiraterone have joint pain as listed side effects and perhaps you’re one of those unfortunate ones that actually have the side effects from the treatment.

Hope your MO can give you some sort of pain relief. Exercise may help but I suppose your pain is to bad to be even thinking of exercise.

Best wishes - Ulf

I still am trying to stay active but the exercise is pretty much done or, at least walking. The old hips and lower back are where it’s all concentrated. MO done X-ray and said osteoarthritis. Wanted to refer me to orthopedic surgeon. I’m not going that route until I have exhausted all other avenues.

I've recently added to my exercise routine by using walking poles on walks. I'm 69 with lots of joint pain including two severely arthritic knees and the poles help take some of the pressure off my knees.

I have not looked into this but husband’s urologist last week recommended gummies from a pot dispensary that are half THC and half CBD. He said the people at dispensaries can guide you to one for a specific condition— re: joint pain. I had asked him about joint pain remedies. He takes them for this

Thanks I’m leaning that way as well.

I take CBD orally (under my tongue) twice a day and everyone is amazed that I do not have a lot of pain. Been doing this for years so not sure if CBD is helping but not brave enough to stop and find out!

I did smoke (always enjoyed smoking, so I opted for this method) half CBD and half THC medical marijuana when that was available to me, but that is no longer available in Rochester, NY, so I just use the tincture now. May go to 3x as pelvis is starting to ache more as the disease progresses.

Thank you. I have to decide on which one to try. So many choices and it ain’t cheap.
