my PSA started at 300 then went to <.1 at Kaiser after 6 months of lupron zytiga and imrt .

Since, it has remained <.1 at Kaiser and I have been getting concurrent ultra-sensitive tests at LabCorp. Every 3 month Kaiser test remains at <.01 while Labcorp results have been:

.067/.039/.022/.008 and today my 3 month Kaiser test is <.01 but my Labcorp test jumped up to .095, should I be concerned?

Hi,

Your PSA is well within acceptable levels. I would see where it is in another 3 months.

Some error, I think:"then went to <.1 at Kaiser"but "Every 3 month Kaiser test remains at <.01 ..."

Yes. Meant to say <.1. What is your opinion which I respect greatly

Since you've already had whole pelvic radiation, there is nothing more to be done before PSA reaches about 1.0 and the doubling time is less than 9 months. (Doubling time is only valid with 3 readings, all over 0.1)

I am NOT in any way questioning your statement above.

This is the identical situation I find myself in having had radiation to both the prostrate and pelvic area at the same time and now with a very small rising PSA.

Currently my PSA rises are in the hundreds range. <0.01 to 0.07 range over a period of 6 months or so.

I am looking for perhaps one of you papers/summaries that I can read and give my MO that supports the above recommendation. I am in the “wait and see” camp rather then going off half cocked for no good reason.

One more follow up question deals with doing a PET scan at say .5 rather then 1.0 PSA. Do you see any value at that level of PSA? Will it impact treatment options?

Thanks for responding!

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

PSMA PETs are very good at PSA of 0.5.
