Timing of PetScans

I’m 8 months into stage 4 Gleason 4+ 5 PSA 31 to start after 3 PSA tests steadily down to 0.11 . Next PSA test is Oct 29 . If it’s same number or lower ( PSA) test , why don’t they give you another scan to see if the radiation got it all ? I had 28 rounds of IMRT in June / July . I’m sure it’s part insurance to do with it ?

PET imaging does not tell you if prostate radiation worked (tumors that are genomically dead remain in place) - PSA is a better indicator, but it can take several years.

There is no way to know if treatment, irregardless of method, got it all. I find baseline imaging and liquid blood biopsies very useful.
