There is no reason to have it. I know it's hard to understand, but the only reason to have a test is if it can possibly make a difference in his therapy.
My husband had a Foundation One testing from tissue and also Boston Gene from fresh tissue from recent lymph node. Very helping in deciding precision treatment for clinical trials etc.
You can ask the surgeon to send the prostate out after your husband's RALP. Foundation One CDx is often used and cost about 6k. Some insurance policies will cover. I would add that if your husband is at a curative state, why waste the money? The results would not be used to inform about treatment.
