Good news after SBRT

My last PSMA pet showed an 8mm prostate tumor in my left lung. My PSA before the radiation was 1.06. 2 weeks after radiation the PSA is <.06. I'm seeing my MO tomorrow to see if he will continue to hold off on ADT. Any suggestion/recommendations? Thanks

Glad to see that you are doing well. I'll give you my two cents but I am no doctor nor a substitute for one.

If had undergone your treatment, I probably would have added ADT and ARIs for at least a few months if not more. But that is me at age 56.

If I was 82 and had a PSA < 0.06, after radiation, I probably would simply wait and test the PSA every 3 to 6 months and get another scan if PSA began to rise again.

Best of luck to you!

old64horn....man you have been put thru the ringer....what a lot to go thru. My question is "How do you feel most days"? If you feel good enough and are enjoying life free of pain etc then fight as long as you have the strength but if you are struggling each and every day is a grind then maybe rethink things. I know this is not much of an answer but for me it would really come down to that. I am not their yet but when/if it comes and my quality of life is such that I no longer have the desire or strength then I will likely put things in Gods hands.

Thank so much for your response. I feel as well as an 82 year old should feel. I don’t have any pain since my back surgery. I exercise almost daily and still tend to my yard. I’m grateful that my PSA is unditectable after the SBRT. My MO was happy to see that. The plan is to just monitor the PSA and take action if needed.

Did you feel any shortness of breath or other side effects from the SBRT to the lung met?

I didn’t feel anything at all. It was 5 sessions over a period of 2 weeks.
