I'm 85 years old, live in Langley, British Columbia have had Metastatic Prostate cancer for about three years, My urologist has had me on Zoladex injections every three months for that time, have had two scans since than,, which does not show any cancer, but after getting the results myself , found out they did not take the one that would show if there is, Can not make him understand , so am trying to find a good

oncologist in Vancouver area. if there is anyone that knows of one , would appreciate the information

Hello,

Greetings from a fellow Canuck (and also a Fraser Valley resident). Dr. Martin Gleave at the Vancouver Prostate Centre is considered one of the best. Also at the B.C. Cancer Agency (BCCA) in Vancouver the medical oncologists that I have come into contact with over the years have all been great. The Chief Medical Officer at the BCCA is Doctor Kim Chi. My wife calls him the "Pope" because he is at the top of the medical pyramid. Lesser "Cardinals" that I have met over the years include Doctor Bernie Eigl, Doctor Daniel Khalaf, Doctor Christian Kollmannsberger and Doctor Lucia Nappi. Without exception they have all been great. My principal medical oncologist is at the BCCA in Abbotsford. His name is Doctor Muhammed Zulfiqar. He has a 4.9 out of 5 rating on Rate Your Doctor from his many patients. Great attitude and easy to talk to. Hope that helps!

Great reply to this elderly gentleman .

See if YOU can get him a referral -- That would be wonderful

Dr Zulfiqar is also my MO at ARH in Abbotsford, and I highly recommend him both as a Dr and as a person. Kind, intelligent and knowledgeable.

I live in Ontario . Wait times for MRI & Scans takes months even over a year .

I go to Buffalo and get my own MRI - Several clinics without a doctor referral . Costs $ 536.00

Can you do the same across in the USA - without travelling as far as Seattle. ?
