Anyone else in the Denver area affected by the closure of The Urology Center of Colorado? Just a month ago, patients were told that TUCC was selling, but the doctors would remain in the same location, but under new management. I had an appointment there on Friday August 2 and found half of the building closed and dark, and the staff members I spoke with were in the process of shutting down. I was the last patient to be seen in the Cytoscopy clinic. The doctor told me they would be re-opening in a new location near Porter Hospital in the next few weeks. The fate of the advanced prostate cancer clinic is unknown. There has been no written notice to patients, except for a note that appeared on the front door of TUCC sometime Friday afternoon.
Does anyone in the Denver area have a great APC doctor they can recommend?

I’m in a clinical trial with Colorado Urology. Dr. David Cahn. Taking ADT and Apalutamide. Also seeing Dr. Bupathi at Rocky Mountain Cancer Center (RMCC). Cahn runs a lot of different trials for advanced PC and they are free to patient. Bupathi specializes in PC and is one of the best in the area. I’ve just begun cycle 5 of the doublet therapy and PSA has reduced from 76 to 0.2. Scans at 3 months showed reduction of main prostate tumor, significant improvement of lymph nodes and reduction of bone metastasis.
I was originally treated by a doctor at Alpine Urology, now known as Colorado Urology. When my PSA came back after the 2015 surgery and radiation, my urologist told me to pick my favorite wine and enjoy the 10 years I have left. That is when I left Colorado Urology and joined TUCC. I have been treated successfully there until this closure. I will gladly look into your recommendations. Thank you!
I’m seeing Dr. Elaine Lam in the urologic oncology department with University of Colorado Health at the Highlands Ranch cancer center. My urologist is also there.
If you have advanced (stage 4) PCa I would find a very experience MO, specializing in Prostate Cancer . I personally had a less than good experience with TUCC and am glad that I left. If you live anywhere close to Boulder, I highly recommend the Rocky Mountain Cancer Center (RMCC). My MO is Dr. Britt. He is very knowledgeable and has provided excellent care.
