Change of Treatment Location

Hello , does anyone have any experience with Dr Winston Tan in the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville Fl ? I live in Fl so this location is more convenient than Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Hopefully the care is of equal excellence.

Dr. Tan is my MO. All of my care has been excellent at Mayo Jax. Dr. Tan is very knowledgeable, but his manner is somewhat brusque.

I, too, have been seeing Dr. Tan for about five years and have an appointment with him in April,but I live in the Pompano Beach area and do not enjoy the ride alone up and back especially since I know he wants to get me on ADT---any of the potential side effects of which I do not want to deal with at my age. However, I think he is a very knowledgeable doctor focused on treating the cancer and light on quality of life issues. Mayo is a well run hospital, reminds me of a college campus. Good luck.

I have been on Lupron for three years. I seemed to tolarate fairly well. It has kept my PSA undetectable up to recently. PSA now upward trend and doubling 0.23 0.36 and 0. 63. So I am in unknown territory now.

Thank you, I really appreciate your input of Dr Tan. I like the Mayo Clinic and have been been going to Mayo in Rochester. I met many dedicated people there. My first apt with Dr Tan is in March.
