XTANDI side effects:

From A and i

XTANDI (enzalutamide) is a medication used primarily to treat prostate cancer. Like any drug, it can have side effects. Common and less common side effects of XTANDI include:

Common Side Effects

Fatigue: Feeling unusually tired or weak.

Hot Flashes: Sudden feelings of warmth, often with sweating.

Headache: Pain or discomfort in the head.

Diarrhea: Frequent, loose, or watery stools.

Muscle Pain: Discomfort or soreness in the muscles.

Joint Pain: Discomfort in the joints.

Less Common but Serious Side Effects

Seizures: In rare cases, enzalutamide can increase the risk of seizures.

High Blood Pressure: Elevated blood pressure levels.

Liver Issues: Symptoms may include yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, or pain in the upper right abdomen.

Falls: Increased risk of falls due to muscle weakness or balance issues.

Allergic Reactions: Symptoms could include rash, itching, or swelling.

Rare Side Effects

Heart Problems: Such as heart failure or irregular heartbeats.

Mental Health Issues: Including mood swings, depression, or other changes in mental health.

Always consult with your healthcare provider for a full understanding of the potential side effects and to discuss any symptoms you experience while on XTANDI. They can provide guidance on how to manage side effects and determine if the benefits of the medication outweigh the risks for your specific situation.

my husband experienced a TIA on Xtandi. Fortunately we got to the ER quickly and there seem to be no lasting effects. Doc switched him to Nubeqa.

Thanks, and for us that failed medical school's subject/class on abbreviations:

TIA stands for transient ischemic attack, also known as a mini stroke.

Glad to see he got to the ER (Emergency Room) in time. Nubeqa® (darolutamide) is working for me. I hope it's working for your dear boyfriend (Husband).

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

Hi. On the 27th July I had my 4 year anniversary of being on Xtandi (Enzalutamide). I've not had a break and luckily so far not had any stomach problems. Your so right about drinking water and I also thank God that so far my life has been good since diagnosis. Good luck to you sir and everyone.
