New York Daily News reports that Bill Walton passed after a long battle with prostate cancer.

Growing up in So Cal and listening as a youth to two 30-0 seasons at UCLA, and listening to his color commentary together with my boys during the Shaq-Kobe era, I'm very saddened.

While I respect the need for family privacy, I wish we could know the progression and treatment of his PCa.

But respect to any man who could win with the Celtics and still be loved in Los Angeles!

Someone here reported that the NYT claimed it was colon cancer. Which is actually correct?

The NYT did not claim that. They reported that the NBA claimed that.
