PSA Bounce After Radiation Therapy

I am trying to understand PSA bounce or change in PSA levels after RT and have found two studies useful.

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

nature.com/articles/s41391-...

Some analysts distinguish between PSA bounce and biological recurrence, and see a possibility of an immune response related variance.

Thanks. Very helpful information. Curious how does one distinguish between the bounce, and biological rec, or missed cancer that needs to be zapped?

One does not even suspect a recurrence until PSA goes up to nadir+2.

Thank you. Need to research that. I wonder if slope says anything.

No. Prostatitis causes rapid increases in PSA.

PSMA showed new lymph node uptake in region previously radiated, and another directly across, near the other leg.

what was the SUV level of the uptake?

Thanks but dont know the lingo. SUV?

I think it's usually called SUV-max and can be about any number but lower numbers can be something else sometimes whereas "avid" numbers (an MO told me 12 is he would say definitely, but can be less also). So your report should have those numbers. Also, will they be biopsying this? I have a PSMA coming up myself, so naturally I'm interested.

The uptake is shown in colors on the photos from the PSMA. The interpretation analysis report that came with it had some numbers.

MO just put me on an ARAT, along with lupron. and left it at that.
