Friday pm, hubby & wife - pts for over 20 yrs, asked me to have beers/pizza with themπ
Also ran into quite a few other pts, even the cashierπ
Sat am did 9 miles up here and 3 more in Ventura, saw weather saying 78 on Sat. On sch for the Make a Wish 28 Mile Trailblaze event in Big Bear in May πΆββοΈ PM me for info - Mahalo π€
Sunday hiked up to Serra Cross then thru the Ventura Botanical Gardens
Did a seafood lunch on the grill at the beach.
Added a QR code to the Memorial Tile on the promenade to link to PCa info.
Chatted with the bracelet ladyπ
On my way down the bike path to my car, I saw a wheelchair bound lady going up the ramp to the beach. I debated whether or not to offer assistance.
Of course, y'all know that I went up to herπ, I said I didn't wanna insult her by pushing, but was gon be there just in case she needed it
We both told our tales: me with over 9 yrs with #stageivpca and she related her 20 yrs with Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia (HSP)
Neuromuscular disorderπ’
We watched the sunset, I walked her to the car, helped put wheelchair into trunk.
On the way to her car, I said that I'm beginning to think that there are no coincidences, I'm just a pawn on the Chessboard of Life guided by a Divine force π€
She said that she's a BelieverβοΈ and agreed with my theory.
Hey Dawn (sista)π Awww, Mahalo nui loa for thatπ, tryna not be the "doom and gloomer" guy (LoL, I never was that even pre PCa) and with such a wonderful/uplifting encounter, I had to share that experience with y'all.
Yea, getting that Vibe of being a pawn on the board or as I say "the ripple in the pond" with the "random" encounters
And speaking of "plants"π
From Hamilton
" If I throw away my shot, is this how you'll remember me?
What if this bullet is my legacy?
Legacy, what is a legacy?
It's planting seeds in a garden you never get to see"
That pic was from my celebration of rappelling 16 story building for a cancer fund raiser. Raspberry with chocolate truffles; salty caramel truffle; french silk pie; Graham central station. Not all flavors available every month. Tough decision indeed!
Been lovin all your posts. Have only been eeking out click of the like button. About time I said something lol.
Hope I make it to California again someday sooner than later cause actually there isn't really too much of a later.
My wifes shot of me on one of the LA trips she came with me on. Circa 2016. Jeesh that's already 7 years plus ago. I was diagnosed nuevo metastatic 3 years later.
Anyway thanks Randy for all your doin. I'm letting my son know about the memorial in case he's out there sometime after I'm gone. Wife too of course.
Speaking of Ventura. On Ventura Blvd. this was one of my go to Sashimi spots on LA trips:
Yea I went there a couple times when on work trips to the area.
One time I went all out on sashimi. They had blue fin tuna belly (Otoro) just in and special price. I had it and all the other good sashimi, Umi/Sea Urchin. Had the yellow tail collar or tuna cheek cooked in delicious sauce etc.
Didnt charge any expenses that day so I could get all the good sashimi on my dinner expense. I paid for it with company card and said please I would like to repeat the order I just ate. So I ate the course of sashimi again and charged that one on my personal card. Heaven.
BTW I think I've said it before but you have great food porn lol. I used to tell friends my tastes run from Waffle house to sashimi and beyond. Thanks to my wife we eat pretty healthy and deliciously which again thanks to her but ya gotta have a polish sausage with japanese yellow mustard and sauerkraut once in awhile or a grass fed beef burger with home grown sprouts and other fixings.
Oh wow Bruddah all that sound so wonderful. Fresh seafood to a Hawaii Boy like me is manna from Heaven. That's my kinda food taste range, whatever you feel like, all in moderation I Guessπ
Got my broccoli sprouts going again, so I have it with Spicy Brown mustard. I try and eat kim chee a couple times a week for the probiotics, just like sauerkraut
Ty π im so glad I opened to read this . There are no coincidences on my eyes and I never expected to open to.such a beautiful story when I too am struggling with disability . Good to hear your voice and ty again for my bracelets and calendar . I think of the group all of the time .
You're so very welcome πI responded to your latest HU post first, as I didn't want it to go ,"poof" and gone outta sight and forget that I was gonna to reply π
I'm so happy that you just "happened" to get back on HUππ
Are coincidences, "part of the plan"like my post of Dan Fogelberg?, then remembering PCa took himπ
I'm also glad to hear from you and you're welcome for the bracelets and calendar
I've stated before of No Regrets not following up on 2010 PSA at 4.7 as I wouldn't have encountered such Wonderful People here on HU like you hon, or at ZERO events, and via Facebook PCa groups. Probs wouldn't have met my new Ventura friend, as I wouldn't have made a Memorial Tile
