I know this site has many foodies and supplements fans and I see Essiac Tea pop up from time to time. Just wondering if there’s any fans of Essiac Tea? I see reports from veterinary reports that it’s effective in dogs and cats with cancer as well men with with prostate cancer. Thoughts?

Essiac Tea
Caveat Emptor!
Research into essiac tea's effect on cancer has been conducted by the National Cancer Institute, the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and many other institutions. To date, the results have been conflicting.
Several studies have shown the drink stimulates the growth of certain cancer cells. This effect has been observed in two lab studies, and one study with rats.
Essiac tea may also interact negatively with chemotherapy. One case has been reported where it may have caused increased toxicity in the blood of a chemotherapy patient. Many experts caution against combining essiac tea and chemotherapy.
I had surgery for prostate cancer in 1997 and started taking essiac tea to see if it would help. After about 2 years I stopped using it as it was a pain in the butt to mix the herbs when we were travelling in an RV. Three years ago I started using it again as we don't RV as much. I purchase mine from BlueMoonHerbs.com and they are located in Montana. All the herbs are pre mixed and you add 4 cups of water and boil the herbs for 15 minutes. I honestly don't know if it works or not but if it kills 10 cancer cells it helps the zytiga that I take. I have an aggressive type of cancer and don't remember the numbers but worst case scenario was 5 years. I am now 85 years old so something must have worked. Not promoting essiac tea for anyone else as we are all different.
I drank essiac tea for about 3 years back in the 90s. I treat supplements like ADT drugs. Once they stop working I stop them.
