ODM-208 makes news again. Thanks it satisfies my curiosity as to how this has gone. Now into phase 3 trials.
As I said I was in the phase 2 trial and despite eventually progressing I feel this is going to be a 3rd generation ADT in the future. Well what do I know. Its anecdotal but anyway I think it will have promise/benefit for future patients.
Thank you for sharing this. My dad starts on this trial tomorrow. My concern is that I don’t think my dad has the AR LBD mutation that all the studies are saying responds the best to the drug. He’s also just been told he has a couple of new mets on his lungs (has always been bone previously). Why would they put him on this treatment if he doesn’t have the mutation? Thanks, from a stressed out daughter.
Hi there! As you said, I think because those with the mutation respond better, but it does not mean that those without have no response. are there other trials he could join?
This is the only one he has been offered so far. Can you go from one trial to another? Naively I thought having no mutations would be a good thing but it seems to limit what they can target?
yes some drugs perform better on mutated cells, for example olaparib on BRCA mutations. I do not know what is available in the UK at the moment as clinical trials but I think he could be accepted in some other trial as well, I am not sure about how long it would take tho, maybe he can start with this and see if it works?
Yes I suppose so. My concern is that I don’t want him to be part of a non-mutation group just to prove that it doesn’t work on them, if that makes sense ?
I understand, check if you can search for trials in the uk like cancerresearchuk.org/about-... or bepartofresearch.nihr.ac.uk/
