Bone metastasis good news: OsteoDex got to phase 3 at last
Thanks M73 for presenting developments that have a near term benefit for us. I’ve become numb to all the postings about theoretical cures only in the infancy of development.
Thanks! I post also cures in infancy and theoretical to be honest. I just write in the title that is in vitro or in vivo 😀
That's great! Do you have the link to the announcement?
"At last" is a good way to put it, it's taken way too long, never a good sign.
And while it sounds like a good approach, and I always try to be optimistic, having followed biotech companies for a very long time, I see too many red flags here. They did not state that the Phase 2 trial was successful (i.e. meet it's endpoint), so I do not believe that it was. They also do something you should not do when analyzing/presenting results, and that is to highlight the success of those "in whom it worked for". That's not to say it may not end up being proven to work, but so far, there's very little evidence to believe it will.
(the Phase 2 study was also not marked as completed, and it was done overseas, I don't give much credence to studies (partly) done in Latvia and Estonia, again, just too many red flags)

I don't know what to think. Results were encouraging it seems, geography does not bother me simply because it's a Swedish company, so they simply did the trial in Sweden, Norway and the nearby baltic countries. But it's been stuck for way too long (ok meanwhile they started other phase 1/2 trials), something does not sound right. Plus since I have read the original in swedish thanks to automatic translation, I was led to believe that they were really close to start a phase 3 study, while on the english page you read something that more vague. I know they are trying to secure some patents before moving to phase 3...but still strange. I would think that something working on bone metastasis would receive much more attention, especially since their first data on multiple myeloma are really good (so they say: dextechmedical.com/en/dexte... )
It seems too slow in this world that moves at incredible speed...
