Seeking low cost zytiga or generic

Have just started zytiga in nz and am finding it very expensive. I would like to explore getting a generic to save costs. Generics in many countries require doctors prescriptions there. Any thoughts or reccomendations with prices appreciated

You can order zytiga generic overseas in India .There are 2 very reputable hospitals over there that will sell it to you. Check in the topics sections we chatted about it before.Some one will give you advice.In Australia now subsidised by the government. Best of luck

Is Zytiga in Oz on PBS only subsidizedif castrate resistant like so many other drugs I look into?

costplusdrugs.com/medicatio... I also get it from local pharmacy for $152 if I don't use insurance. Cost plus was 119 last time. Scary when they first tell you about the price, but it isn't that bad when you ask around. This is a very small town pharmacy in Mn and certainly other pharmacies can do as well as this?

Does New Zealand not have a universal health care plan? I thought it did. I too am on Zytiga (abiraterone) plus Prednisone. The British Columbia Cancer Agency picks up the cost. If not available in NZ, buying a generic from India might be the way to go.

New Zealand's universal health care does not include the recommended Zytiga and also block any of the generics so the only option is to purchase at $7500 per year and use the 1 tablet per day with low fat food to keep the cost to this level. Everything else has been covered by the universal healthcare. If you haven't got the money your hormone therapy is goserelin only.

abiraterone has become quite reasonably priced in US but appears NZ only covers it for castrate resistant. Perhaps your country covers one of the newer drugs instead? In any case, perhaps you could contact a patient group there and ask . Such as pcpep.org/nz

I'm also in New Zealand. I tried bringing some via NZ Post from the USA and received this advice "Please be aware that drugs, pharmaceuticals are prohibited via our youshop service." It seems easy enough to purchase a generic in India but I'm not sure if it will get through NZ customs.

I have been getting the generic from the Mark Cuban Cost Plus Pharmacy. It is the lowest price I have found and my medical team as well. It is all mail order.
