I got my 1st Lupron shot into right hip muscle 4 weeks ago. It was painful! But pain went away in 5 min. 3 weeks later I started experiencing pain in my quads and some numbness.
I was told that next time, it's preferred to do it in the left hip. I'm afraid, I might have the same problems with my left quads after the next shot.
Does Lupron shot needs to be done into the muscle? Did you experience the same problems?
Is there way to handle prevent this symptoms?
Thank you, Friends!

So you do injection in the stomach to avoid workout pain. Is this documented somewhere that hip muscle injection might cause pain or injury after workout? That's what I feel happened with me.
My Lupron Brand was always given in my Ass...but when they switched me to Eligard brand it is now Stomach. I always felt like i was kicked by a horse with Lupron for about a day after. Eligard has a slight burning sensation in my stomach but only for a small period
I’ve had the shots in my hip, at the very top of my hip just below my waist. And once in my arm. I far prefer my hip, No pain there, neither during the injection nor after.
It has to do with the injector...most dont care...ive had both lupron in butt and now since the grate hoax eligard in belly...the injection is suppose to take 45 seconds....the faster they do it the better chance for a lesser outcome...the doc..ive been left with bruises / soreness for days or barely noticeble after effects when done with care....
I had a similar reaction. My hip pain lasted a week. My Oncologist suggested I switch to Eligard in the abdomen. That is how I have taken my last three injections. Aside from the brief needle stick I have experienced no reaction or discomfort.
I have been on Lupron for six years, injection always in the butt area below the waist line. I alternate each side for each injection. I had one injection in the stomach that caused a hardness and discomfort that lasted over a month. All other were in the butt area. I found that if you massage the area before the injection, you will have less pain. Since I have been messaging the area I will generally feel some very mild discomfort for a day or so, nothing that has caused me not to exercise the next day (3 mile run every morning).
Same here, had about 6 or 7 Lupron injections in buttocks, alternating left and right. Never had a strong pain, just a soar spot for a couple of days. As an alternative a shot in the arm is possible but I don't want to try it, for now. It's like in software: why change it if it works?
my last shot (2nd shot) was in left shoulder (1st was right shoulder). Anyways, that shoulder was messed up for couple days. In fact night #1 was awful - didnt sleep a wink. I will do buttock next time.
For those who care, my first Lupron injection was on 03/18/2008 (in my stomach) all other continuous injections up to including last month 10/06/2023 have been in my left cheek butt. No issues with the injections.....(except they call in those beautiful nurses to view my naked butt - I sort of like that)...
