For blood sample circulating tumor cell (liquid biopsy) testing, which is better, Guardant 360 or Foundation One?

We have to pay out of pocket so looking for the better test.

Thank you.

IMO you are more likely to find something definitive on a test of biopsy tissue. However, even then, the probability of a useful finding is low. With a large enough tissue sample, you can also get histology and IHC.

Thank you. They've not offered a tissue biopsy- maybe because tuomors are in the spine? Testing of a biopsy would not cost anything.

For what it's worth, my MO seems to prefer Guardant. But I don't know if that is for insurance purposes or efficacy.

I’ve looked at both tests recently and both look similar in terms of the structure of the test. The Guardant was more expensive & the Foundation included a blood draw by phlebotomist at your home at no additional cost.

Foundation has has arranged the blood draw at my home for next Tuesday. The results should be sent to my oncologist in about 2 weeks. Hope all goes well in the plan for your next treatment. I’ve been seeking next treatments for almost 24 years,.

wow! 24 years! We are at 7 years with very aggressive G9 PSADT of 2 weeks. I'm hoping the blood will be drawn very quickly and we're willing to go wherever to expedite. Are you thinking of Olaparib/Lynparza as next treatment?

I’m currently only on ADT (Relugolix), just finished 7 infusions of Docetaxel chemotherapy with limited cancer reduction. Will begin Lu 177 in early December since some of my PCa is PSMA avid. Probably 2 cycles, then scans to see if there is any reduction in the cancer. Wish me luck.

I wish you the very best. If my husbands cancer simply holds steady with chemo, I’d call it major success.

Thank you for your uplifting contribution. It's a shot in the dark- 30% chance they find a deletion actionable with Olaparib and 30% chance that Olaparib works.

Not what you're looking for?
