QoL - Another full moon

Ever since my hubby was diagnosed with cancer I watched the seasons change… Part of what became a routine was every morning and night I walked our dog (Karma). I always looked up at the moon and stars. Thanking the powers that be for another full moon. Which means one more moon with him.

When I found and joined this august group it asked for an icon/avatar. I chose the one I used because it was a beautiful full moon. However the way the system here works it doesn’t show how nice the picture looks. Instead I think it looks like a growth going out of control like the cancer all of you guys are fighting.

So fight on to another full moon. 💙

I'm sure you noticed that the full moon a few days ago was within a few degrees of Jupiter. A pretty pairing, much like the one in early October. Wishing you many more with him.

I too think of the full moons and the seasons changing and wonder how many more I will see.

The moon I can see. Venus I can see. The stars? Not so much. I live in the Phoenix metro area. The light pollution is so bad I can't see more than a handful of stars in the sky. It is ridiculous and disappointing. As a kid growing up on Long Island I could see plenty of stars. The big dipper. The little dipper. One of them pointed to the north star, I forget which. I can't see any damned dipper now. I've thought of taking a trip to a 'dark night' location just so I can see some stars, maybe even the Milky Way. That's on my bucket list. My wife wouldn't understand. She's a city girl. I had to drag her to Yellowstone a few years ago, where we saw a chipmonk and she asked "what's that?"

Yes, I too miss the dark skies for looking at the stars. I know that the North Star is in the handle of the Big Dipper. Where I’m at sometimes I can see both Venus and Jupiter. A few years ago we were able to see the planets aligned. Depending upon the time of year I have Orion directly overhead but now it’s a bit more southern. As for animals, plants and insects a lot of my neighbors often ask me what they are as they too grew up in the city and only saw feral cats and rats. Keep looking up at the stars and the moon. 💙
