I’m in my 10 mo. of holiday from Zytiga. My psa has risen from <0.04 to 0.90, my T value has risen from <7 to 24(LO) in 6 mo. Ago and than back down to 20 (LO) as of last week. My MO is concerned about the drop, should I? What is going on this. I feel great I feel strong.

Sometimes a holiday becomes a permanent vacation. My T has never been above 31 since ending three years of ADT in 2012. On the other hand, my PSA remains undetectable 14 years after Dx in 2009. I, too, am 76 years old and still enjoying life.

How can pc grow if you’re T is so low ? Plus I’m doing so well at the gym, how come its not higher. At this point psa 0.9 is not to bad .

For some (not all) men, the PC finds a way around low T and the cancer will grow. This is called CRPC (castrate-resistant PC). That's why even with low T you have to keep monitoring PSA. And who knows? One of these days your T may return. A physical impact of low T besides loss of libido, hot flashes, etc. can be bone loss leading to osteoporosis. That's a good reason to keep working out at the gym.

"I feel great I feel strong". That's exactly how I felt before those little Mother Fookers started to eat me...That was 21 years ago...........BTW I can't run fast but I can still kick ass....

Live strong, Live long!!!

thanks John. You would think that the powers of modern medicine would have this in the review mirror by now.

staying alive is more important than having low T.

Take a holiday from what has been working is a dangerous game. If you love life keep taking what is keeping the cancer at bay. I’ve been on Zytiga and Lupron for 5 yrs, and PSA has been undetectable . When it stops working, that’s when I will go on a holiday .

Maybe my MO is thinking Zytiga + Prednisone again she considers me being in remission. I’m having blood work and a NM Pet CT scan Jan 3, 2024 this will be all telling.
