Interesting topic. I'm jealous of your trips to Turkey and S Korea. Had plans for S Korea, but they were cancelled due to blowing my knee up the day before departure. Jealous of Scruffy's trips to his (crowded hot tub 😜). Haven't traveled internationally as much as I would have liked, but planning on more international travel now that my wife and I have retired.
In the US I have spent multiple days, weeks or even months, in:
Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona. Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, N Dakota, S Dakota, Minnesota, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, S Carolina, N Carolina, W Virginia, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Alaska, and Hawaii
I've also spent significant time in Canada:
New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia
I've spent time in Mexico, with 10 days in 1979 for our honeymoon.
I have also spent a couple of weeks in Singapore.
Love the perspective that you gain from seeing how much we have in common with people in other locals, and the excitement of experiencing or seeing something completely different.
Well one place that didn’t make our list- Japan. As soon as we found out about the cancer we set up a 14 day trip to visit all the places he wanted to see before he was unable to travel far. Unfortunately Covid 19 had other plans for the world. Now he can’t even make it out to Mickey D’s But after his last pluvicto we will see what he can do. Looking at maybe a cruise to the Caribbean island or US VIRGIN islands. I too enjoy experiencing different cultures and foods.
Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, New Jersey and Illinois. Never been out of country as we have a special needs son so I stay with him to give my wife a break to go on cruises. I have some nice T shirts from the Caribbean though.😊
😀 yes T-shirts: before I ever got to go anywhere I used to say my clothes have been more places than us. The label says where they are made and I would look up the country and read about it.
Words of wisdom about New Orleans- don’t go during Mardi Gras it’s crazy crowded and you won’t get to sightsee much. Most places still have interesting things to do on the off season.
Mardi Gras is something I would have gone all in - in my younger years. Not so much anymore. I have a brother in St. Pete, Fl and we're planning a drive up thru the pan handle, cross Alabama and Miss. and on into Louisiana.
