youtu.be/LsllxyEvWXA#5 IMRTs done, still asymptomatic, got walks in twice. 1st one in Beach Park and Serendipity struck as I came across the Cancer Survivors Plaza.
Shopped at Trader Joe's 💙
2nd as car was being worked on and roamed the 'hood and got pix of the Blooms, oh and pink Flamingos😂
3/24/23 Aloha, dockam, congrats on completing your 1st week of IMRT! So far, my hubby had 2 sessions of VMAT out of 28 that are planned. He threw up this morning but is going in for his 3rd VMAT session now. We shall see what can be done to help him regain his QOL.
Mahalo nui, dockam, for extending your care. Hubby did not eat much last night but his stomach got rid of whatever was in there this morning. I asked hubby to retire for now, as he is age 69, but he is reluctant. Perhaps the gastrointestinal side effects will eventually change his mind. We have met with our bankruptcy lawyer to see what can be done to ward off the creditors but hubby has not yet opted to go bankrupt. Just taking things a day at a time...
Mahalo nui loa Bruddah, just kinda doin what comes naturally for me - be upbeat and optimistic. I've said before that taking a trip and getting pix and making a Photo Album makes my spirits soar - I wanna have as many on here vicariously take a trip or sup with me.
Though at times I feel that I should temper these as I don't ever want resentment that I'm getting out and doin stuff and not having debilitating SEs from the meds as others are
asymptomatic sounds “ real “ good to me bruddha. You have a great weekend too buddy …
Still cold here in the lowlands , chilly and windy. Not going to warm back up for 8 days. Water runoff out of control in Tulare basin, Tulare Lake has re-emerged again ( after more than 40 years gone dry ) and authorities say we haven’t seen anything yet. Pine Flat dam has 1.1 million acre feet capacity and 3.3 million acre feet are coming to the lake from watershed. AND another atmospheric river coming starting Tuesday. We never have more than one or two atmospheric rivers per year and this will be our 13th atmospheric river, and not done yet.
Yea, I know that the cumulative effects of the IMRT increase the chance of plumbing issues as they zap more and more. The RO is giving a larger dose and fewer zapping sessions.
I'm hopeful that the weekend breaks from IMRT give body time to recover.
We're getting rain Tues to Thurs with a low on Mon day at 28 - I want Spring Sprung
Yea, saw that about Tulare Lake being filled, that's great for them up there
let’s hope your IMRT SEs are manageable buddy … I think your well above average physical conditioning will probably help you a lot too. Hanging in there …. Your eye on the prize …. You’re on track definitely.
Tulare Lake , once enormous…. the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi River and the the third largest lake in the USA only smaller than Lake Okeechobee in Florida, and Lake Michigan . The most fabulous wetlands flyway in the northern hemisphere. ( millions of waterfowl every year )
Anyway it was allowed to be drained by farmers over the decades and turned into vast corporate farms like Westlake and a bunch of small farm labor towns . Now “ all that “ is at risk of massive flooding that will last until October. There is clay under the ground there that doesn’t allow all that water to soak in. Migrant labor jobs , migrant towns and billions in corporate profits will be lost until the lake disappears again,
On feb 4th my wife and I had the extreme pleasure of attending a performance of the Bach Cello Suites. The artist was Alisa Weilerstein, and her artistry is amazing. I’m a huge fan of the cello, and a fan of the Bach (therefore the second part of my HU nome de guerre). That being said, the first classical album I bought for myself was The Four Seasons), so thanks for the video.
When I was born my folks were living in Northern California in a mill town. I was born in late October and right before Christmas the Trinity flooded and washed out the only bridge. My parents and I had to cross the swollen river on a makeshift ferry. A couple of days later the ferry washed away and I believe everyone on board was lost.
Nine years later we were living near Eureka when the 64 Christmas flood hit. We were out of the state visiting family for Christmas when the news of the flood hit. When we headed home many of the roads were washed out and we had to drive in a convoy (Ah, breaker one-nine, this here's the Rubber Duck) across one lane of Hwy 96, with a sheer drop to the rushing torrent below. That drive is one of my most vivid childhood memories.
Here's hoping the state escapes another of those life changing floods.
yea there have been some duzzy floods in California in the 20th century … there is a good chance this one will be the worse on record for the southern part of the Central Valley. See my answer to Dockam , above.
yayahahahaya …. Yea some of the farmers will get a hit with this , but it’s the giant farming corporations . We overproduce dramatically here , most of that product goes overseas. No biggie except for farm workers.
Brussel sprouts, Kale, Whole Wheat bread, Whole Wheat pitas, a case of CA Red Blend 2 buck chuck for me and my Beermate pts, the wife was next to me in the pic from Pdubs bar
that’s what the hammer does, she buys whole cases, usually two, of her 2 buk chuck as well.
Uh …… was that a proctology based run you went on in that picture ??? Your wife holding that cringeworthy “ one finger does it all “ yayahahahaya yayahahahaya. Ewwwwwwww … yayahahahaya. Your wife looks nice … prolly keeps you in line pretty good yayahahahaya.
