My brother-in-law has been diagnosed with small cell carcinoma prostate cancer, a very rare and lethal diagnosis of prostate cancer. He has been treated with chemotherapy for the last 4 months and his second scan came back with mixed results. His oncologist at Weil has said that chemo is not working and he should consider other alternatives. We are trying to see Dr. Beltran at Dana Farber and Dr. Matthew at Tufts. Based on my research, they seem to be the foremost specialists. However, this is a dire situation and we are willing to explore any and all medical options in this country and overseas.
Can anyone share any and all treatments, Drs. and hope? We are based in the NYC metro area and willing to travel anywhere to see the best and most innovative in the world.
Thank you so much!
