EPIC in NYS

wondering if any of our NYS members have had any of the expensive drugs covered under the NYS Elderly pharmaceutical insurance coverage program……I haven’t started my meds yet but I will go broke in short order if I don’t find alternative ways to pay for them…..patient assistance programs through manufacturers are very “iffy”……I will ask more specifically in the future depending upon what I am prescribed….for now interested if anyone gets EPIC reimbursement.

I didn't know we had that in NY. I went to Buffalo General. Dr Radkowski and his team set me up with a 0 copay, based on my income. For albi.

I live in NY and qualify under its EPIC program. I have yet to need any pharmaceutical help. The key word is pharmaceutical. Because I am only being treated with Eligard ADT injection in a hospital setting the drug cost is covered under the Medicare Hospital Treatment Classification and it is not classified as a pharmaceutical drug and thusly not charged as such, so no potential help from the EPIC program. If you were to be prescribed the Orgovyx drug that is supplied thru a Pharmacy and taken at home, the program may help, but needs verification. Note that EPIC is income dependent, not asset.

Thanks for the response….I am quite aware of how the epic program functions….it’s a major pain to find out if they cover an expensive drug…I was hoping for a shortcut👍. Hope the eligard is keeping matters under control.
