I just had basal cell carcinoma removed from my scrotum. I believe this was a result of seed radiation and beam radiation for my prostate cancer on2008

How it was diagnosed? Scans or blood work? Thanks.

My dermatologist spotted it after I complained of bleeding

Probably not. How would the radiation get to the skin of your scrotum?

I did get a very good suntan on my groin during radiation

A pretty benign form of skin cancer.

I had one about 4 years ago on my forehead. The dermatologist spotted it. Looked like nothing to me. He said it was no big deal. Then about a year later he took off a spot on my shoulder that turned out to be melanoma. Much bigger deal. He got it all so no spread. Now I have semi-annual skin checks. Nothing since then. I’m of Irish-English ancestry with a pretty fair complexion so I shouldn’t have been surprised. I spent a lot of time in the sun in my youth. Slathering on 70 SPF sunscreen now.

Why do you believe that? Basal cell skin cancers can develop anywhere. What does it matter?
